Small Group Discussion Method’s Effectivity for Improving the Students of Tenth-Grade Vocational High School 7 Semarang’s Speaking Ability

Many Indonesian students find it difficult to master English as a second language. One of the essential skills that must be mastered is speaking skill. People who like concerted effort improve their language skills. In teaching and learning, teacher has big responsibility. Teachers learning strategies solve problems faced by help them comprehend achieve goal learning. This research uses experimental methodology examine effect small-group discussion method on students' ability communicate verbally. The researchers applied pre-experimental strategy, which included pre-test before providing chosen treatment. A post-test was given complete data collection after treatments. used thirty-six from SMK N 7 Semarang sample in this research. research's findings indicates score outperformed score. On other hand, at significant level 0,05, t-score result greater than t-table. As result, we can decide analysis Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) acceptable whereas Null (Ho) unacceptable. accordance with findings, conducting small group discussions strategy significantly improves abilities. suggested teachers offer an attempt.
